FAQ
#1: The Program won't print
Windows
ME, 2000
Question:
When I print out, I get a blank sheet of paper.
Answer:
If you have Windows ME, or 2000, you probably need an updated version
of the software. Contact Cochenille at techsupport@cochenille.com.
If you have Windows 95/98, and we have a new .exe that we can mail/email
to you that will correct the hassles some people were having. Email
us if you are having a problem, and we can either mail or email
you the fix.
FAQ
#2: Small image when printed
Windows
3.1
Question:
When I print out, my image is very small. Why?
Answer:
When you print, each pixel on the screen becomes a dot at your printer.
The higher the d.p.i. of your printer, the smaller your image will
print. Let's say you have a 300 d.p.i. printer, and you want to
print an image that is 100 stitches x 100 rows with an 8x8 grid.
The actual pixel size of your image is 800 pixels wide by 800 pixels
tall. This will print out 2-2/3 inches square. You have several
options for increasing the printout size;
A. Magnify the image prior to printing.
B. Increase the Grid Size prior to printing (this keeps the grid
line narrow).
C. If possible, change the d.p.i. setting of your printer (not possible
on all printers).
Note:
A new .exe is available which uses a different logic in printing.
You do not need to zoom with this version, but you loose some of
the 'control' of controlling print size (as the original version
gave you).
FAQ
#3: Nothing happens with print request.
Question:
I go to print, and the program looks like it is sending the file,
but then nothing happens at the printer.
Answer:
First of all, make sure that you have the proper printer set as
the active printer. Second, check to see how full your hard drive
is. If you do not have much space, there is a chance that large
documents will not print. Try printing a small document, and if
this prints, and your hard drive is relatively full, you will need
to clear some space on the hard drive. If your hard drive has lots
of space and the printing problem persists, you may want to try
the new .exe of Stitch Painter that we have which solves problems
for some of the Win95 or greater folk. Email us for info.
