These are 4-1/4 X 5-1/2 inch cards printed on index weight paper. On each card is a place for your fabric swatch (or trim) and detailed information about the piece. You can record the yardage, width, fiber content, purchase information and storage information amongst other things. What better way to organize your stash. Normally, there are 50 fabric cards per fabric set and 10 trim cards per set.

Pattern Planning Worksheet - First, you need to think through how to approach making the pattern. For this we have the Pattern Planning Worksheet. Keep track of all the details of your patterns including the style details, inspirational clipping, flat drawing with general dimensions and a thought-out analysis of how to approach each pattern piece. By working through this sheet, you will be educating yourself for future projects. You will develop an understanding of how deep armholes are, what you preferred neckline width is, etc.

Garment Construction Worksheet - The interesting thing about creating your own patterns is that there are no sewing instructions! So, a new form of education must emerge. Really, it is not that hard. One begins by looking at the instructions on similar commercial patterns. Yet, it is very helpful to think through the steps of construction, one-by-one, prior to sitting down in front of the sewing machine. This worksheet helps you with the process.

Project Costing Worksheet - This worksheet helps you to determine the costs of a sewn project. It allows you to record the fabrics and trims used (including swatches), quantities and total costs.

Computer Log - Of course, once you get going with computer design, you need to keep track of where you save your various files. This worksheet allows you record this information.

Garment Designer allows you to enter front vs. back and left vs. right measurements. We have found a wonderful tool that makes taking these measurements simple.
