This hands-on class will teach you how to measure and create a square-armhole style garment out of a fleece, wool,or other fabric, and plan knit sleeves and a collar or scarf to go with it. If you bring he fabric, you can use your lunch hour to find the perfect yarn in the market place. Various design concepts and combination techniques will be discussed in the class.
Think Proportional…for Garment Design
Saturday, February 24th, 2018 at 9:00 am – 12:00 pm Saturday 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm
This class focuses on a design philosophy which will teach you to look at garments and translate them to your own proportions. Learn to analyze and translate what you see in knitting patterns, fashion magazines, and online to your personal shape and proportions. Students will measure each other and work with a pattern (provided) to understand logical changes. Then knitters, sewers, weavers and multi-crafters can adapt the process and garments that work with their proportions.
