Jody Urbani "Graphic Vest" Sewn Garment

I made bias strips out of cotton fabric and laid them out on a template I made from Garment Designer then ironed them in place. I sewed the edges of the strips all around to give it some stability, sewed the facings to the garment and finished off the shoulder seams with bias strips inside and outside, tucking the edges under the facings. The appliques are made with denim using both sides of the denim in the leaf designs.

Kathleen Horvath "Kayla Sweater" Machine Knit

Kathleen is from Montreal, Canada. She created a completely reversible A line full length Raglan sleeved coat with shawl attached for increased warmth in cold Montreal winter. The wearer is Kathleen's 13 month old great grand daughter. The picture is not showing enough of the coat, more of Kayla, as her mother took the photo. Kathleen loves the versatility of Garment Designer (the sweater was was knitted almost without seams) from toddler to Men's wear.

Lynn Kamada "Graphic Vest" Sewn Garment

This vest is sewn with a fleece type fabric. Note the facing which was cut from a lining fabric and attached to reduce the bulk.

Lynn Kamada "Layered Dress" Sewn Dress

This dress is composed of 2 layers; one a light sheer fabric and the other a sleeveless dress. Lynn said the process was so easy. She designed the underdress first and saved the file. Then, she used the file as a starting point and changed some points around to create the overdress. Note the scalloped hems that Lynn created with her serger by stretching the knit fabric as she serged.

This 2-piece ensemble consists of a raglan sleeve knit top and a straight skirt. Note the nice contrast band that Lynne used at the neckline.

Nan Fabing "Americana" Machine Knit Sweater

Nan is from Gilroy, California and created this garment after the Sept.11th tragedy. She designed the silhouette in Garment Designer, and incorporated short-rowing to assist with the fit of the garment. The swweater is embellishe with stars and stripes to carry through the patriotic theme.

Pat Ashforth & Steve Plummer "Sheep Rug" Hooked Rug, wool

Pat and Steve are from Colne, Lancashire, England. Pat is a book author for the hand knit book called 'Wooly Thoughts'. Steve Plummer works with Pat and illustrates her books. The sheep drawing was one of Steve's originals for Pat's ''Woolly Thoughts book'. It was scanned and taken into Stitch Painter. Visit them on their website www.woollythoughts.com

This Chanel-inspired suit was hand knit using DMC #5 cotton in Purple and Light Yellow. It was inspired by a sewn outfit and an article in Threads magazine.

Patty "Ladies Briefs"

Patty used Garment Designer's underwear 2 option in Style Set 2. She simply raised the crotch slightly, and printed the pattern. Then, on the table she created the separate crotch piece. The briefs are sewn with picot-edge elastic.
