Check Boxes and Dialog Buttons

You may click on the check boxes to display additional measurement fields that you may use to build your sloper. Check boxes appear in the left and right columns of the Sloper dialog box.

  • The check boxes on the left column allow you to see further body measurements that when utilized will result in a more refined-fit garment.

  • The check boxes on the right column allow you to see, enter and utilize separate Front versus Back or Left versus Right measurements.

  • The T or A that appears beside the first column of fields indicates whether that measurement is a Total measurement (meaning circumference) or an Average measurement (meaning the average between Front/Back or Left/Right).

  • You may choose to use the left column measurement without using the right column. For example, if you choose to use the High Shoulder to Bust measurement (which helps you position the tip of the bust dart), you can use an average measurement for the left and right side, and thus do not need to enter separate measurements (and thus you do not need to click on the checkbox in the right column). Of course, the necessity of using Left/Right and Front/Back measurements will depend on your body and its shape, and on your desire for ultimate fit.

As you click on check boxes, further fields will open. If you want, you can choose to hide the check boxes, by clicking on the Hide Checkbox button in the lower right corner of the dialog (see the example of Refined-Fit sloper with Hide Check boxes turned on).

If you do not intend to enter all 36 measurements, then you can turn off the checks by those measurements. As an example, let's say that you decide not to use the high hip measurement. Click on the check boxes to the right of the High Hip Circumference and the Waist to High Hip Length to turn them off. Notice that as you do this, the upper button name in the lower right corner changes to Hide Unused Measurements (see the upper left illustration). If you click on this, the unused measurements disappear, and the button name now changes to Show Unused Measurements. You can click on this to view all measurements once again.

At any point in time, you may choose to view the Simple-Fit view of these measurements by clicking on the Switch to Simple Fit button.
