Knit... (Options Menu)
Modes: K U
The Knit command opens a dialog box that allows you to control factors related to knitting. These are:
Show Number of Active Stitches - When this is selected, the shaping instructions will show you how many stitches should be active at any given point of the sweater. Hand knitters will interpret this to be how many stitches should be on their needles, and machine knitters will use this information to determine how many needles will be actively knitting.
Show Needle Numbers - When this is selected, machine knitters will be shown the actual needle numbers to each side of center.
Shaping on Alternate Rows - This check box, when selected, forces the shaping of the garment to occur so that multiple and/or single increases or decreases on a given side of the knit piece happen every other row. This relates directly to how knitting must occur. The 'strict' option forces shaping to occur on alternate rows regardless of whether shapings are single or multiple stitches. Otherwise, only multiple stitch increases or decreases occur on alternate rows.
Show Garment Key Points - When this check box is selected, you will see the key points of the garments displayed in the Shaping Instructions window. These will print if displayed on the screen.
Include Help Text in Instructions - When this check box is selected, Garment Designer will insert some basic how-to instructions at the beginning of the Shaping Instructions. These will assist you in reading the chart. Once you are familiar with the process, you can deselect this check box and save paper in printing.
