New (File Menu)

Keyboard Shortcut! Ctrl/Cmd + N

The New command allows you to open a new document. It will appear as an Untitled document in its Title Bar. This new document will display Garment and the Size and Style options in their default modes.

The shipping defaults are as follows:

  • Category Top
  • Size Standard Misses Size 10
  • Top Group Basic
  • Top Style Average
  • Shoulder Sloped
  • Neck Group Round
  • Neck Style Standard
  • Darts None
  • Sleeve Group Separate
  • Sleeve Style Set-In
  • Armhole Standard 
  • Sleeve Shape Tapered 
  • Sleeve Length Long
  •  Measurement  Inches
  •  Display  
    Left Front and Back
    Adjacent Sleeve
    Sloper and Pattern


You may change the defaults to your own personal taste. See the discussion on New Document Defaults on pages 13-14 of Chapter 6 of your manual.
You may open as many documents as your computer's RAM will allow. Due to the number of pop-up style menus Designer uses, you will have limitations. A New document will remain untitled until you save it with a name.
