Pockets (Extras Menu)

Keyboard Shortcut! Ctrl/Cmd + / (for Separate Pocket Pieces)

There are several Pocket menu commands. The first command is simply a label for the section. The next five items are toggle commands and these dictate the pocket location and whether it is turned on (as indicated by a checkmark) or off. When Tops are displayed on the screen, the Top/Dress pocket menus are active. When Bottoms are displayed, the Bottom Hip and Bottom Thigh menus are active. Each main menu command offers 3 submenus; Left, Right and Unique. The Left and Right options displays the pocket on the left and right pattern pieces, respectively. The Unique option allows you to have two completely different pocket styles on each side of the pattern. Two style menus will open. As you choose a pocket menu command, new submenus appear in the Style Bars below. Each pocket creates its own line in the Style Bar. Exercise caution against opening too many pockets at one time, as you will lose screen space for the pattern. Only display those you intend to use.

There are various pocket categories, including Outer, Inner, Flaps and combinations of these. A fuller discussion of pockets can be found in the Design Discussion section of this manual.

The Delete All Pockets menu command removes all pockets in one simple step. The Separate Pattern Pieces menu command serves to 'tear off' the pocket and create a separate pattern piece. You will still have a marking on the garment for pocket placement.
