Project (Options Menu)
Modes: S K U

Keyboard Shortcut!

This command opens a dialog which allows you to choose Project Options of three types. Click on the desired option button to choose your preference. Understand however, that the chosen options will apply to the current document only. If you want to set these options globally (for all new documents), use the Edit "New Document Defaults"... command in the Edit menu.

In the dialog box, you may choose your preferred option in the following three areas:

  1. Which Measurement Display Units you prefer to work with: Inches (decimal or fraction) or Centimeters.
  2. Which Menu Mode you prefer to use: Sew, Knit or Universal. In Sew mode, you will only see commands that pertain to sewing and patternmaking. In Knit mode you will only see commands that pertain to knitting and garment design and in Universal mode you will see all commands. Thus, setting the proper mode allows you to focus on only those commands that affect your work. If you enjoy more than one craft, and don't mind viewing commands that you may not use in a given project, choose the Universal mode.
  3. The amount of Margins you will see around Garment Pieces on the screen and in printouts. If you are trying to conserve paper when printing patterns, you may want to explore a tight margin setting. Experiment with this in Print Preview mode (Display menu). Also, change your paper orientation (between Portrait and Landscape) to determine how many pages you will need to print the pattern.

Once you have chosen your options, click on the OK button to close the dialog. Remember, these options only pertain to the current document unless you set them via the Edit "New Document Defaults" command of the Edit menu followed by the Project command of the Options menu.
