This menu item allows the user to see what part of the pattern will fit on which page of printouts. It will be dimmed if you are in Scale to Fit mode, as there is only one page to print. Once you choose 1/4, 1/2 or Full Scale, you will begin to see dotted lines and page numbers. This features allows you to do a few things:

• It allows you to experiment with landscape vs. portrait mode in printing (File/Page Setup) to see which mode better utilizes your paper.
  
• It allows you to see on which page numbers certain parts of the pattern fall. This is particularly helpful if you want to print out a facing. You can quickly see which page(s) the facing sits on and you request to print that page (or pages) separately from the pattern.
