Add Band… (Additions Menu)
Modes: K U

Keyboard Shortcut!

This command allows you to add a custom band anywhere you want on the garment. To do this, select a segment by clicking on it, OR drag + select one or more segments. Then, choose the command and type in a name and the desired width. The band will appear. It is helpful to name your bands so that the knitting/shaping instructions will label it properly. The widths of Custom bands may be edited through the use of the Edit Custom Additions command (to be discussed later).

Note:
It is possible to stack multiple bands. This is a pretty exciting feature, and can be used creatively by knitters. We will make use of this feature in a Tutorial on Yoke Design, Chapter 9.

A Note on Band Additions
The order in which you apply additions has significance. Think this through and experiment. A good example is the case of a center front band in relation to the neckband.
Do you want the CF band to go completely to the top, through the neckband, or do you want the neckband to extend completely to the CF?
Experiment and enjoy the freedom. You will probably need to use Custom bands to achieve the greatest success.
