Yarn Calculations (Generate Menu)

This command allows you to generate a window that contains a summary of each garment or band piece, its size and style options, area, gauge and yarn data as entered in the Yarn Data dialog from the Yarn Data dialog box of the Options menu. If you filled in information in the dialog, Garment Designer will calculate the number of total stitches, area, yardage and/or weight of yarn you will need. The information you will see will depend on the information you entered in the Yarn Data dialog.
 
All calculations appear in a Full Yarn Calculations window and may be printed, saved as a text file or exported to a word processor (via the clipboard). You will need to add the yardages, square feet and/or weights from the various garment pieces to obtain a total yardage, weight or square area. Don't forget to include the information from the bands of a sweater as these also need to be accounted for. Always allow for a margin of error.
